First, please refer to the Adding a Media RSS Widget to get started.


A Media RSS Widget is the second RSS option and uses the advanced settings. This feature will set the player to display the Media RSS article text on top of the media while it is being displayed. Below is an example advanced Media RSS option display.



Within the widget setting, click the Use Advanced Settings box at the bottom.  The Advanced tab will become highlighted ready for setting edits.



Enter setting specifications.  Use text box setting term guide below.



Text Box Settings:
Padding Left - Set the padding (free space) between the left edge of the zone and the text.
Padding Right - Set the padding (free space) between the right edge of the zone and the text.
Padding Bottom - Set the padding (free space) between the top edge of the zone and the text.
Padding Top - Set the padding (free space) between the bottom edge of the zone and the text.
Background Opacity - Sets the opacity level of the background color or image. 0=transparent, 100=opaque.
Background Style - Sets the style of the background which can be either a “solid fill” color or an image, which can be selected from the “Backgrounds” folder.
Background Color - Sets the background color. Available when the “background style” is set to “Solid Fill”.
Background Image - Selects the image when the “background style” is set to “Use Image”.
Text Opacity - Sets the opacity level of the text. 0=transparent, 100=opaque. This feature requires firmware 6.0 or greater.

Text to Display
  • Selects which text to display on screen from the Media RSS article text. The available options are “Title and Body”, “Title Only” or “Body Only”.
  • Scrolling Step Value - The distance, in pixels, that the scrolling text will step. Smaller values will create smoother scrolling text but will put more load on the player resources.
  • Scrolling Step Time - The time, in milliseconds, between each step. This value should be a minimum 10. Recommended values are between 40-100

Title Settings
  • Padding Left - Set the padding (free space) between the left edge of the zone and the text.
  • Padding Right - Set the padding (free space) between the right edge of the zone and the text.
  • Padding Bottom - Set the padding (free space) between the bottom edge of the zone and the text.
  • Padding Top - Set the padding (free space) between the top edge of the zone and the text.
  • Title Font - Sets the font for the article title
  • Title Font Size - Sets the size of the font for the article title.
  • Title Font Color - Sets the color of the font for the article title.
  • Title Text Align - Sets the option on how to align the text for the article within the zone. Options are “Align Left”, “Align Right” or “Align Center”.

Body Settings
  • Padding Left - Set the padding (free space) between the left edge of the zone and the text.
  • Padding Right - Set the padding (free space) between the right edge of the zone and the text.
  • Padding Bottom - Set the padding (free space) between the bottom edge of the zone and the text.
  • Padding Top - Set the padding (free space) between the top edge of the zone and the text.
  • Body Font - Sets the font for the the body of the article text.
  • Body Font Size - Sets the size of the font for the body of the article text.
  • Body Font Color - Sets the color of the font for the body of the article text.
  • Body Text Align - Sets the option on how to align the text for the body of the article text within the zone. Options are “Align Left”, “Align Right” or “Align Center”.
